A group of self-advocates from North Yorkshire have created a short video and Easy Read information about the Mental Capacity Act.

 

Inclusion North worked in partnership with North Yorkshire Council, with support from KeyRing, to work with the group to create these resources.

 

‘About the Mental Capacity Act’ is an Easy Read guide you can find this in the downloads at the side of the screen.

 

It explains what the Mental Capacity Act is, and how some people might need support to help them make decisions in their lives.

 

‘Jack’s Story’ is an Easy Read guide you can find this in the downloads at the side of the screen.

 

It tells the story of Jack who needs support to make a decision about where to live. It explains how a Mental Capacity Assessment helps him with this.
