Keeping People Connected through Covid19

Inclusion North have been working in partnership with local organisations and have developed three projects across the North East, West Yorkshire & Harrogate and Humber areas to help people with a learning disability and/or autism stay connected during the Covid-19 crisis.

This project has now ended you can find the North East end of project report in the downloads on this page.

There are local organisations in each area that will support people through regular contact, to help make sure that no one is totally isolated.

The organisations will help to identify people who are at risk of poor physical or mental health and ensure that contacts are made with relevant services.

This is not an emergency/urgent response service.

The organisations involved will help people with a learning disability and autistic people to:

Understand what ‘staying at home’ or ‘staying alert’ means

Understand the guidance on how to stay safe and not catch the virus, who to contact and where to go.

Understand and treat any symptoms and illness you might have and generally look after yourself in this difficult time.

Decide what immediate support you might need e.g. getting food or medication, knowing how to ask for help in an emergency.

Know where you can access more support services and connect to local groups.

Feel supported, by staying in touch on an ongoing basis, if needed

Solve problems if things go wrong

Get help from other services if needed

If you feel you need this type of support, please contact one of the organisations listed below by looking for the name of the place where you live.
