We run Hartlepool’s Citizenship Group.

The Citizenship Group brings together people with a learning disability, autistic people, families and carers, and professionals from Hartlepool Borough Council.

The group have been together for 2 years and meet monthly to look at ways the council can improve life for people with lived experience in Hartlepool.

They have helped the council with important pieces of work around:

–      Self-Advocacy

–      Information sharing

–      Raising aspirations for young people

–      Health

The group has become an important platform for experts by experience to speak up about issues affecting them and others in Hartlepool.
